Our Mission Statement:
Friends of Barber Creek was formed to:
preserve and enhance the attractiveness of Barber Creek and surrounding land in the Oconee County area;
to protect and improve the ecological condition of the creek;
to acquire, establish, retain and maintain a fund or funds to be held, invested, and used exclusively for charitable and educational purposes related to Barber Creek;
to establish a short and long-term management plan for the area;
work in partnership with local government officials and organizations that provide support and advice for community initiatives and friends groups;
to develop community awareness and participation in the care and management of Barber Creek,
and the promotion of the health, safety and welfare of the Oconee County residents who use and enjoy Barber Creek.
